Connect →
We begin by connecting—with breath, body awareness, and one another. Connection means creating safety. It’s about noticing where you are today, honoring your limits, and building trust with your body. We take it step by step, at your pace, with compassion and care.
Move →
We continue by building resilience and confidence—through gentle, trauma-informed strength and movement practices. We invite your body to express what words often cannot. The practices we use are not to achieve numbers or performance goals, but to awaken resilience, confidence, and freedom in the body.
Heal →
We arrive at the body beginning to release and integrate what it has been carrying. Healing here doesn’t mean “fixing” something broken. It means remembering your wholeness—reclaiming ease, strength, and grounded presence that has always been yours.
I’m Rev. Kelly Isola, founder of The Story in Our Bones. I’m a certified Trauma-Informed Weight Lifting Coach, Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapist, and NASM Movement Facilitator.
I believe our stories live in our bones—carried through generations, stored in the body, and ready to be remembered with compassion and strength. My work bridges science and spirit: blending somatic trauma healing, nervous system regulation, and the sacred practice of mindful movement.
This is not traditional fitness. It’s the integration of body, mind, and soul—where strength becomes story, movement becomes medicine, and every breath becomes an act of healing.
Here, strength is not effort — it is homecoming.

I’m Rev. Kelly Isola — a trauma-informed somatic coach who helps people heal through strength, nervous system safety, and body-based awareness. I believe our stories live in our bones — and when the body feels safe enough to belong to itself again, healing becomes possible.
My approach weaves together:
- Trauma science and nervous system regulation
- Somatic strength and embodied storytelling
- Contemplative practice and spiritual grounding
This is not fitness or self-improvement.
It’s reclamation, this is a return to the body as home.
Who I work with:
- Women 45+ rebuilding strength, confidence, and bone health
- Trauma survivors seeking safety in the body
- Every body that has ever felt “othered” in movement spaces
I help people listen to the wisdom written in their bones. Through science and spirit, movement and stillness, I support you in guiding the body home to its own strength and sacred story.
When the body is safe, the story can unfold.
Healing is for every body – clear, simple pricing and flexible options keep it accessible to all.
What I Offer
I offer trauma-informed, somatic healing experiences that begin with safety and unfold through gentle, embodied strength. Whether individually or in community, the work is about restoring connection to your body at a pace that honors your nervous system.
Individual Sessions
One-on-one somatic strength and nervous system support to help you rebuild trust in your body and develop capacity from the inside out. You will:
- Restore safety and belonging in your body
- Build strength without force or performance
- Grow capacity through slow, supported movement
Group Experiences
Workshops and gatherings that blend grounding, movement, and shared embodiment. Group work allows for nervous system co-regulation and the healing of “not belonging.” You will:
- Feel supported through gentle witnessing
- Experience safety in community and connection
- Heal through shared presence and movement
No one heals alone — we heal in bodies that feel safe, held, and accompanied.
All bodies, ages, abilities, genders, and trauma histories are welcome. Movements can always be adapted, paused, or experienced in stillness.

At 52, I thought my best years of strength and balance were behind me. Working with Kelly showed me otherwise. I’ve gained not only stronger bones and muscles, but a sense of confidence I didn’t realize I had lost. For the first time in years, I move with ease and trust my body.

Being in a group session felt powerful. Moving together, we shared stories without words. I left feeling lighter, stronger, and connected—not only to my own body but to the women around me.

I didn’t have to retell my trauma story—my body already held it. Through gentle strength work and Kelly’s somatic guidance, I’ve learned to breathe differently, stand taller, and feel safe in my own skin. This is the most healing work I’ve ever done.

Kelly weaves together research, movement, and spirituality in a way that makes healing feel both practical and sacred. I came for my body, but what I gained was wholeness—body, mind, and spirit.”
